» Powers/Abilities
Being an Aegir/Seaborn, Mizuki has a few abilities, such as being able to withstand extreme pressure, breathing underwater, swimming exceptionally, having a charming voice that echoes slightly whenever he sings (think: sirens), with a drawback that he needs to keep his skin hydrated very frequently, else risk completely drying out.
Mizuki has very high physical prowess that doesn't seem to be explained. Even his doctors note that it's "odd" because he doesn't seem to have any previous training, but can somehow keep up with the hightly trained operators of Rhodes Island. (It's likely that this is a product of the Seaborn ability to adapt and evolve rapidly to suit their environment.)
Mizuki has various
tendrils, all very jellyfish-like in nature, that at first seem to
flicker in and out of existence. They don't seem real, at first, like it's illusory, or maybe like he might just be driving you mad,
but... they are very real. And they are
alarmingly powerful. Mizuki has been told to not show this side of him, so he avoids bringing them out if at all possible. At least, around where people/cameras can see. If he's alone with his target, then all bets are off. He's implied to devour the people that he captures and has classified as "evil".
While his tendrils may not be illusory, Mizuki
does have the ability to cause hallucinations, and disrupt vision, hearing, and tactile perception. He's been known, in some cases, to drive some people completely mad because of this. It is not something he uses all that often, as it's usually just easier for him to use other methods. But something of note is that it is not "magical" in any nature, but biological, which probably entails that it's a sort of jellyfish venom. Because of this, I will only use this as a means if Mizuki has stung someone (even if in canon he can do so without stinging? But? ??? ???).
Other than that, Mizuki is very agile, and nine times out of ten is just going to use his agility to wear his foes out rather than try to fight them if they are not his "targets". If the going gets too tough, he can also
squeeze himself into tight places quickly and with ease, and seemingly
disappear altogether. This disappearance is a sort of camouflage he has, which he uses to keep his tentacles concealed most of the time. When he uses it, however, there's a chance he may glitch out, as stated above.
Mizuki, being Seaborn, can adapt and “evolve” quickly based on his environment. He also has, relative to others, rapid healing. It doesn’t happen immediately, of course, but it is relatively fast. Seaborns also apparently just can’t get Oripathy?? So there’s that— it also means he can’t use Originium arts at all, however.
» Personality
On first impression, Mizuki seems like a kind, polite boy. He happily greets strangers, and seems like he genuinely wants people to get along and be merry. But, upon having a few conversations with him, it's clear there's something just a little bit...
off about him. He says things occasionally, in that cheery, happy tone of his, that are
mildly worrying. But he's joking, surely, right?
Mizuki gets quickly bored of things that don't suit his interests. He likes to experience new things, of course, and figure out just
where his interests lie, but he's very liable to drop his cheeriness in exchange for apathy if he isn't having fun. On top of this, he is also an
extremely dependent person, constantly looking for guidance and having major trouble making decisions on his own.
That said, Mizuki is particularly
hard to bore, as he is very much a people pleaser. So long as other people are smiling, he is generally also having a good time. Mizuki is interested in how people think, and tends to default conversation topics to thought provoking psychological or philosophical questions.
» Other
Mizuki's thoughts are influenced by the Seaborn hivemind, and of the firstborn. Mizuki's specific brand of firstborn is the Caerula Arbor - a massive, tree-like leviathan that's stated to feed the seaborn and keep the ocean calm. All the "firstborn" are the Seaborn gods, and all the "firstborn" have some influence on other Seaborn because of the hivemind, though the... for lack of a better term, "loudest" is that of Ishar-mla, or Genesezoic, your typical eldritch horror, Lovecraftian god. All consuming in it's nature and wrathful, it's hard to overall understand. It's hard for him to tell which thoughts are purely his own, and which are filtered through his Seaborn blood, and he's not even sure anything is 100% purely his own thoughts anymore. Mizuki already struggled prior to understanding people's thought process, but this has certainly made it even harder for him. The "rights" and "wrongs" of social interactions and just morals in general are also hard for him to get a grasp on.
With that said, Mizuki is
incredibly strong willed. Though he is fully Seaborn, he doesn't succumb to the "corruption" and chooses to be "human". While he may be morally ambiguous for the most part, he does have some good intentions. Only eats "evil people". Wants to make people happy. Wants to be useful. Wants to protect innocent. What this all truly "means" for Mizuki is all over the place, but his heart is, at least, in the right place.
Mizuki has an anxiety disorder. It's a general anxiety, and not a social one. Although he is really bad at communication and social interactions, his anxiety more affects his relationships, day-to-day tasks and self-esteem more so than it does his social skills.
